Affordable Memory Care Solutions for Veterans
Alzheimer’s Family Center is one of the most trusted resources for families in Orange County who live between the hope for a cure and the daily reality of caring for a memory-impaired loved one. The center, which earned the “Excellence in Care” distinction by the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, is contracted with the Department of Veterans Affairs. Currently, 20% of our patients are referred by the VA. We are proud to serve our veterans and provide affordable solutions for them.
HOW WE CAN HELP
Whether you are concerned about memory loss, or are caring for a loved one diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia, we offer a full spectrum of low- and no-cost services to meet your needs:
MEMORY SCREENINGS – Memory Screenings are a check-up for your brain. They should be done every year, just like blood pressure and cholesterol checks. Offered once a month at our facility, memory screenings are confidential and free. In 20 minutes, you will know if your memory concerns are part of normal aging or if they need further assessment. To schedule a memory screening, please call 714-593-9630.
MIND BOOSTER SERIES – A four-week program offered for individuals concerned with healthy brain aging that provides a proactive approach to understanding the causes and risk factors of memory loss. Classes focus on maintaining cognitive skills, memory tools, understanding super foods and a healthy brain diet, exercise and stress management, and legal issues. Contact us at 714-593-9630 for next available dates.
ADULT DAY CARE – Our adult day health care program is located in Huntington Beach and is dedicated to individuals with a diagnosis of memory impairment, such as Alzheimer’s disease, early-onset Alzheimer’s, or any other dementia. The center operates Monday through Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and provides support and respite during the day for families caring for their loved ones with memory loss. Adult Day Health Care for the patient includes socialization, physical and cognitive exercise, reduction in falls, improvement of overall well-being and comprehensive medical care.
Fees may be covered by the Veterans Administration, Medi-Cal, and some insurance companies. Transportation is available to and from the center.
